    Anyone watching Spurs Man City?

Aguero fouled in the box, play goes on for 2 whole minutes then they come back (correct VAR call) for the penalty. Gundogan's pen is saved by Lloris, who then dives at the feet of Sterling. VAR again to see if that's a pen - turns out it wasn't so there's an argument for Sterling getting a second yellow for the dive

    DRAMA.

Great bit of entertainment. Not sure why Sterling wasn't booked for diving though?

He should have been really, he was clearly looking for the pen

He's going down before he reaches the keeper
Should spice things up for the 2nd half.

Imagine if Spurs had scored in the 2 min delay before the pen was given

City down to 10 men. I don't think that's the last red card we'll see in this game either.

What was wrong with Zinchecko's shoulder barge?

Pep under achieving big time this season.

Liverpool need 18 points from 13 games to win the league. What a crazy season. They don't play football like I've seen Arsenal or Man City play. They're winning by sheer force of will. Klopp is some manager.

Well, they're in a Cup Final and still in two other cup competitions, so the only real under achievement at the moment is that they are probably going to finish second in the league, but I take your point to the extent that they look pretty brittle this season - they had no luck whatsoever today mind.

Tactical foul, he knew exactly what he was doing

I like Pep and his philosophy, but to be this far behind Liverpool at this stage of the season, and with a defence as bad as they’ve got, especially with the financial clout they have, a lesser manager would be under pressure. It’s hot at the top !

Agree. It wasn’t your average 50/50 shoulder barge. He deliberately stepped over and put him out of play.

The crazy thing is that the VAR footage for the non-foul on Sterling showed that lloris was off his line before the pelanty ws kicked, so it should have been retaken.

But that sort of offence isn't covered by VAR guidelines!

    Shambles!

Sky going to have to big up the battle for 4th a bit earlier this season.

Man City may as well just do the bare minimum in the league now, and fully concentrate on the other cups. May turn out to be a good thing for them regards the CL.

For a legal shoulder charge the other player has to be in possession of the ball. In this case the ball was about 5 yards away.

Yes do agree , think his defence options have not been the same since Kompany, and Stones is not the answer , Pepe must be kicking himself not buying Van Dijk .

It was a fatal mistake by Pep not to freshen up an all conquering team with a few new top quality players to add some competition. Klopp doesn't even need to give his players a team talk this season after they missed out last year with an unprecedented 97 points, which also meant he didn't have to tinker with his team as the motivation to succeed was already there.

I wonder what would have happened had Manchester City scored while the VAR adjudicators were deliberating. I can't help feeling the earlier foul which resulted in the penalty would have been forgotten.

Deliberate obstruction. Professional foul = yellow card.

Zinchecko had no chance of getting the ball. Winks would have maintained possession.

Also needs to be shoulder to shoulder in a 50:50 situation, not shoulder into another part of the torso.

Can't remember the actual wording of the rule.
