I wouldn't mind betting that Warnock's runners-up had more attempts on goal and more attempts on target than Rodgers promoted Jacks. Ironically, both teams scored the same number of goals. Sadly stats don't exist for the 2010/11 season, but when we were promoted, only 3 teams managed more attempts on goal than us. Our shot accuracy was also pretty decent. Our number of attempts on goal and on target from 2017/18 is higher than Swansea's is this season.
In this season's Championship, there's limited correlation between possession and attempts on goal. The top 12 in terms of possession are ranked 1st, 5th, 2nd, 4th, 11th, 6th, 16th, 17th, 3rd, 20th, 22nd and 23rd in attempts on goal. Outside the top 6, there's absolutely no correlation at all.
