Bully has very little gore or violence but is about a bunch of sexually active , drugged up rich kids and the horrific consequences of their actions
Flower of flesh and blood is a very violent and bloody film but it's a bit daft and isn't a mind feck

Read about it just now , two blokes avenging the rape of a woman , sounds grim
its the darkest movie i've ever seen. a tough movie to make just because this type of thing does happen, but to see it so raw is ..the actors do an incredible job

Yes I saw it years ago as a kid , that david cronenberg did some freaky films
To illustrate my point , the shining has some very gory moments
But for me the start of the film , where the car carrying the family up the winding roads , higher and higher into the dark foreboding mountains is filmed is portent for the evil that is awaiting them
No blood , no violence just gives me the creeps

...it has the rape scene to end all rape scenes..compelling but disturbing

I found the rape scene in the accused disturbing enough and that was tame and 25 years ago

Scum is quite dark, especially the greenhouse scene

they don't show the greenhiuse scene when it's on tv
The ending is dark , the three of them trying to beat the system get a savage kicking and are dragged into the cells and left like pieces of meat
No music , just the sound of prison doors being locked
And then the film ends
