    Newport taxi drivers

What’s the deal with Newport taxi drivers appearing in Cardiff over the past couple of years? Noticed more and more around. I thought taxis had restrictions on trading in different areas?

Also, it’s cheaper / easier to get a taxi badge in Newport. It’s ridiculous, because you can pass the ‘knowledge’ of Newport routes, but then work in Cardiff.

I had to have my car serviced at Audi in Pontrprennau the other week - I got a Cardiff Dragon cab from there to the office in Newport £12.
On the return I got a Newport dragon cab and the fare was £8.

    Work that one out.
