I thought it was best ever Cardiff City Full backs?
Debatable only to the most one eyed City supporters, Gunter, 441 Appearances so far all in Championship except for 25 in Premier League,96 International appearances, sold for 3m and two other transfers to Forest and Reading for 2m +.
Super Kev 254 Championship appearances, remainder in Scottish League or below. 4 International caps, all moves free transfers, never had a decent bid for him or he’d be gone, now living back in his beloved Scotland!

I think the question was fullbacks over the last 40 years. There's not alot between Bennett and Gunter and like i said it is debatable who is the better player, certainly not a one eyed view.

Had Bennett been eligible to play for Wales, I couldn't imagine him getting 97 caps somehow.

No mention of 40 years in the OP, in fact the two mentioned, Rodrigues & Bell, were way out of that time scale.

I don't think that there's much in it, that's why i said that it's debatable. Gunter is probably more disciplined, but is he a better footballer? i don't know. Both players are solid championship with an early flirtation at the top table early in their career, both were found out pretty quickly.

Agree with this. Neither is perfect. If they were, they wouldn't be playing in the Championship. Gunter probably shades it in terms of experience. Joe Bennett is probably the better player with the ball. They're both solid Championship players. If Bennett were to leave, he's certainly not dropping to a lower level.

I was comparing Gunter with Super Kev not Bennett?

And he could play - I'd have loved him to come to Cardiff a few years earlier, but, in truth, he was too good for us then. Delaney and Theophile-Catharine are the best specialist right backs I've seen playing for us for the last forty years even though we were in the Fourth Division when the former was here.

Clive Charles was a classy full back in the mid 70's
