CONFIRMED: EFL suspends all games until at least April 3

So time to make some alternative plans for the next few weeks

    If true, two things..
Surely the number of cases will be much worse then?
Also this must mean they know the euros are off as well.

I think there are a lot more cases than we think. Arteta, Hudson Odoi etc. were tested because they were footballers, they only had mild symptoms. There are probably lots of people with very mild or no symptoms who are spreading it without realising.

..but a mile away from CCS there will be roughly 200000 people descending on our fair City the day before..

Think this would be the correct decision despite the Government not having the sense to take these precautions.
Absolutely crazy that Wales Scotland will go ahead tomorrow imo, not just the game itself but the travel, queues at train stations, pubs, and so on. For a game that could easily be played later in the year. Mental.

The right thing to do. Now lets forget about football for a month and let the players have a break. Might do them good.

They may as well cancel the rest of the season. There aren't going to be fewer cases in 3 weeks time.

I don't get how they expect things to be better by April.

    Exactly.

    Season over seems most likely.

I may just nip over to a Leeds messageboard or two for some light relief at this difficult time.

An absolutely outrageous decision. This will come back to bite someone on the arse. No doubt.

Isn't there anyone that can stop this? Who is politically the most powerful person in Cardiff?

Will be interesting if the season goes right through the summer. Haven't we got concerts booked on the ground? And what happens with the transfer window opening if the season is still going on. Players contracts generally finish in June don't they?

Probably the chairman of the WRU, or someone who will lose a shedload of money if the gg is cancelled.

Stay clear of the city centre this weekend.

13 more confirmed cases in Wales, yet these selfish, thoughtless barstewards still carry on

It's a PR move. The government is anticipating that the number of cases in the UK will peak at the end of May or the beginning of June.

I mentioned this in a different thread a few days ago. Meaningless match at the moment with others being postponed, huge numbers circulating in close proximity in pubs, restaurants, and transport before and after the game. Loads will spread it on to others who will take home to elderly relatives, its crazy, as was Cheltenham.

Pro 14 already postponed so there is some common sense in the rugby world.

Hopefully the cancellation of the football may bring about a bit of pressure to change the mindset.

Maybe the WRU are more powerful that the government.

I'll make a prediction. The whole season will be cancelled by May and there will be calls for Liverpool to be given the title, despite not actually winning it. It won't be given to them and they'll spend the next 40 years banging on about it.

I would laugh my head off if that happened , and leeds were prevented from going up

On a more serious note , whatever is done to prevent people dying from this virus has got to be for the good
