Well I normally pop out for the old dear for the weekly shop , but there is nothing left
Went online and tesco , morrisons and Asda are saying it's two week wait and even then tins of beans , frozen veg , tinned soups and toilet roll is sold out
So much for society and sticking together
Mind you it was thatcher who said there was no such thing as society , only individuals
The west has lived the high life for too long , the latest apple mobile phone or shiny new petrol sucking land rover isn't going to help now
Its every man for himself from what I have seen

It's amusing, because if no one did it you would hardly notice a difference in terms of stock and everyone could continue ordering online or visiting the store as usual.
A few panic, others see this and follow. Then you have the third wave of those that see all the panicking and pick up one or two extra.
Just discovered the same as Sludge - as someone who is under 70, but will probably have to self isolate for twelve weeks, this was a blow I didn't really expect. If and when it does get to that stage, the supermarkets are surely going to have to change some of their emphasis towards home deliveries.

If this is any consolation the supermarkets are ordering hundreds of chiller vans at the moment. They are also buying second hand vehicles and removing the old markings as quickly as they can.
It's seeing the NHS staff who are suffering, that really brings it home. There they are doing their bit to save lives and when they finally get off work and head to the shops to pick up some essentials, there's none left.

He's on a downer because the Ann Summers site is showing for the 9th successive day that their range of male vibrating butt plugs remain unavailable.
And still bugger all on the shelves, first hand experience at Sainsbury's yesterday morning at 7.30
Just been to Tesco, Pengam Green, some shelves are barren but was ok picking up fresh salad stuff, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and that. Seems to me the stockpilers will be having to have their front doors widened when the crisis calms down given what the empty shelves consisted of previously.
I stocked up on a fair few things a couple of days ago - had virtue signaller have a go in the car park.
I was getting normal amount immediate family ( wife, kids, cats ) consume. Got some stuff for my mum, currently in self-isolation in sheltered accomodation. Also got stuff for some elderly residents in the street.
Still, I'm a "hoarding bastard"...
Those deliberately hoarding are idiots. Stores don't care, it's a sale.

Thought I would get to supermarket early, as they open......think many people had
the same idea!!! Long orderly queue in the carpark....standing 1.5 yards
apart. Supermarket only allowing 25/30 people in store at a time....when
some leave, others go in. Very civilised.
Shelves packed as normal, plenty of bread, eggs.....and toilet rolls!!
Trolleys NOT piled high.....just normal purchases.
Think that's it - if people see shelves full they don't panic

Aren’t they going to have designated oldie shopping hours now? Like from opening until 9 so they can stock up? I appreciate many are too scared to go out so go online, then again many don’t use the net so are struggling.
I sort my mum shopping out, she is 87 and wouldn’t have a clue how to operate it. I bought her an annual delivery pass with Asda which I secured as “recurring” every two weeks. Between that and Wiltshire far food she will survive.
I've just done my normal 13.30 grab from Lidl, TBF looked pretty well in control, my usual cobs and chicken no problem, seemed pretty well stocked.
Dont knock Ann Summers. Once every other shop has sold out of dried pasta, their penis shaped pasta will soon become a family favourite across the land.

I have volunteered to be a local liaison johnny for 18 houses in my street and most of the houses are bungalows and inhabited by the not-so-young - and I'm hoping that they all don't ring me to do shopping for them
