I did the same last week, i found about 50 sachets of Cup-a-soup- My missus seems to think that they're a good idea but never eats them (do you eat soup?)

I heard that joke yesterday. It's like groundhog day here.

    So do I.
My mrs and daughter often sneak things into the bin if they are a single day past the 'BBE'.
~I check what it looks like, then how it smells. I've had stuff months out of date - edpecially tins and jars. Though they are hard on my teeth)

Use a tin opener or a dish cloth on a jar for better grip.
    It'll save your teeth

I like yoghurt when it’s nearly fizzy. Full of flavour and very useful if you’re having problems downstairs

Out of date raw bacon is good if you need a crash diet.

To say I'm disappointed with the reaction on here to what I thought was a decent joke is an understatement. I'll try again.

Seeing jokes every day about pork sausages is like Groundhog day.

If the chicken still smells fresh, I'll eat it. Same with pork. My Mrs always wants to throw stuff in the freezer, but I'm prepared to leave in the fridge a couple of extra days. I often buy steaks approaching their sell by date, I bought a $55 rib-eye roast for $25 last week. Ate it 4 days later and it was the best steak I've had in a long time. I'm making a broth with the bones right now.
