A 4 - 1 home win. The Jason Fowler goal, on our way to promotion
What a game that was. I took around 20 work colleagues to that one, many for the first time, and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
A taste of things to come over the next twenty odd years, that side played some excellent stuff at times, but the demolition of that season's champions and Jason Fowler's goal was on a level we just never saw back in those days. I haven't checked this, but I think it may have Mark Delaney's last home match - we didn't half find it difficult to break sides down at home once he'd gone.
The crowd gave Warren Aspinall some tremendous stick that day and, to be fair, he took it well and gave some back.
I see Phil Dowd was the ref.
Great game. Loved watching again.
I loved Delaney. Remember that goal v Villa when he ran almost the length of the pitch.
Great shame is career was cut short.
I'd forgot that City fans were back on the Grange End before there was a roof on it.
was this the same year that City fans were locked out of the away game?
