As a follow on to the London Airport question. Luff is actually closer to Lille than it is to London, and something else I discovered by accident recently when I was looking for something on google earth, but there are 7 Airports that include London in their title! 5 are obvious, Lydd is obviously a bit obscure, but there’s 1 that is even more off the scale, and possibly an 8th that doesn’t use the name, but anecdotal evidence suggests they did at sometime in the past!
I didn't read the previous to this but Luton and southend spring to mind.
I forgot about Southend, in that case there are 8 definite and possibly a 9th.
So in addition to Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stanstead, London City, Southend and Lydd that we already have. i recently discovered that Oxford airport is known as London Oxford, and Southampton evidently claimed once to be London Southampton.
