My Boy Lollipop singer Millie Small dies

Now that does make me feel old.

I still picture her as a 17 year singing that song.

She died of a stroke by the way.

Same here, that song is one of the first I can remember seeing being performed on television, I was going to say she was a true one hit wonder, but, apparently, she had a couple of minor hits besides My Boy Lollipop both of which, clearly, passed me by completely.

Oh yes, dancing to Millie in the Top Rank on Saturday mornings as kids.
Many years later I saw her in the West End Club, Ely. RIP Millie.

I seem to remember the song knocking about on the radio in the 70s ten years after her version was released so it must have been a popular hit.

I'm not sure how they got away the title of that song in the fifties (when the original version was released).
