    A tremendous influence for a generation. Elvis and The Beatles were massively influenced by him as was Prince.

    disagree with the OP as I always think Chuck Berry was the real king of 50's rock 'n'roll johnny burnette the real king of rockabilly

    but as a 50's music buff loved all the rockabilly ,blues and rock n roll stuff from that era a sad day RIP

    Jerry Lee Lewis hasn't gone yet. He's one of the greats from the 50s.

    R.I.P Richard Penniman, one of a handful of true pioneers of rock n' roll.

    The Yanks should build some kind of Mount Rushmore to these greats. Richard, Buddy, Eddie, Gene and Chuck! If there's any room, the great Dion DiMucci and Elvis too
