But a lot of people went there when apartheid was the accepted status quo (Excuse the musical pun) so it wasn't seen as so bad as it is now in hindsight.
Plus of course there were parts of the USA that in reality weren't much better but still accepted.

When was this time? The time when apartheid was seen as OK? When a world pariah state based on institutionalised racism was just the way it is?
