Anyone recommend an agent who could value / sell a property in London - Stratford/Beckton area.

Foxtons would be a well-known choice but there are others like Bairstow Eves

Would the house sell easily anyway? If you are in a place where houses tend to go for over the asking, list it yourself. Otherwise: look out for agents new to the area, they can sometimes do the first few houses in the area for free. We had that with one of the large ones who had just opened an office near us. Otherwise, I used KFH who cover Stratford. They were excellent and worked really hard- they more than earned their fee. And while they are hated.... Foxtons got a lot more than anyone else ever managed on our street. They promise a lot and they take a huge slice, but you cant argue with £600k in a few weeks, when nobody else could get over £550k for comparable houses.

Bairstow Eves were fine for us.

I've used KFH twice for buying and selling too. They were pretty good in North London.

Dont know if they have branches in east but people I know who have used them have said Winkworth and Hobarts pretty good as well.

Bryants. Dealt with them for years, a very good firm

Get a couple of free agents valuations and then sell it yourself. There is high demand for property since the elimination/reduction in stamp duty.

I've heard of Foxtons and checked out Bryants whch look local to the property. Bairstow Eves currently manage it so will ask them to value it as well.

I'm guessing the fee is likely to be more than the 1% that is easy to get down this way!

Foxtons will want 3% plus vat. 1% is certainly manageable with others.
