A turkey story-Driving back from some village near St Davids after working for a week on a cottage, about 10 years ago.My Labourer at the time (Knob and ribs) decided to steal a Turkey from a nearby farm. It was two weeks before Xmas and this thing was huge. He put it in the back of the van but the Turkey kept pecking the back of my head, so i made him ride in the back with the turkey, he ended up cuddling it and the both fell asleep. Needless to say that the Turkey was never killed because he had bonded with it. The Turkey lived in his garden for six months until it died of heart failure-According to skinny that is!

I know you may not have noticed but we are in the middle of a rising pandemic

The other day we were told stay at home , only go on essential journeys , wear masks , keep a safe distance

As I drove back through Bridgend after seeing my old dear who is recovering from covid I saw a very long line of thickos not staying at home , not keeping a safe distance and crowding into a shop to buy a fecking turkey

If these idiots don't listen then it won't be beans on toast for Xmas Dinner with aunty Betty next year , half of the family will be dead !

Is it just me ? Tell me

Am I losing my mind or is the UK full of simpletons ?

Just rang them , told me they are far to busy with checking on pubs flouting the laws in and serving customers the cupboards and basements of said premises., one bloke was arrested for looking at a pub earlier , another was seen sat on a wall , both thankfully now in custody ,their pork scratching's have been confiscated and taking in as evidence .

you're probably losing your mind. If people have ordered them then they are going to collect them. Why shouldn't they? And the butcher has to make his wages so his family can eat. As for the social distancing it can be deceptive when viewed from a moving vehicle, and sometimes people see what they want to see.

How did your mother catch covid? I thought she was house ridden? Did you pass it onto her?

Do you have to line up two feet apart to buy a turkey just for one day ?

Is having turkey essential shopping when there is a pandemic ?

Eggs , beans , etc can be bought at staggered times , these butchers are going to be like this for the next few days with people gathering to buy a bloody bird to be cooked on one day . Groups of people in close proximity is how the virus spreads . Those people lining up like lemons are exactly what the government don't want .

    This country is a joke

The vaccine will be flying out soon that is our salvation!

it's going to be a grim January and February though I think a million or more will catch it this week and next, Our NHS is already fecked in December which is normally relatively quiet and known as the lull before the storm!

You are right that it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better, I think we will be locked down for six weeks plus.

But they are stood outside, so less chance of transmission. A lot of people have paid for their bird throughout the year and simply cannot afford to write it off.
