I remember seeing the original, uncut version on video before the term "video nasty" was coined.
Good horror flick, but really couldn't understand the fuss about it. My local video shop was fined over it - though he only stocked it before the fuss.
Knee-jerk reaction to some numpties who didn't like horror films.

Along with texas chainsaw massacre, Friday the 13th , Halloween etc evil dead was groundbreaking , not everybody's cup of tea and there were far more graphic films about at the time but it mixed horror , special effects and comedy

I didn't watch it last night though , I wouldn't have slept 😳
