Just watched a documentary on BT Sport presented by David Ginola on Jean Marc Bosman.
Very moving, quite shocking and showed the world of football up for what it is.
Put his whole life, career into the court case just so footballers were safe from being exploited. We all know how that's panned out.
Ruined his marriage, sank into alcoholism. Not a pot to piss in. Lives with his mother.
Very sad.
Indeed they have, their agents too.
Even the smallest of modern day agents will have earned more from one move than Bosman earned from playing football his entire life.
A very quiet unassuming man but a proud and stubborn one.
Imagine the amount of people that have used the term "Bosman rule", "he went on a Bosman".
Most wouldn't know him if they fell over him drunk in the street.
Disgusting how football and the greedy leagues have left him to rot, even players didn't want to associate themselves with him.
I'm not sure can blame everything on his case. He's made a lot of bad decisions and done some things probably isn't proud of.
Surprised wasn't more financially looked after being left with court costs etc, doesn't mean wouldn't have done the same things.
Can you imagine if he had 100th of 1% of just the money agents have made since footballers gained free-agency?
