It’s interesting that there appears to be a lot more information about the 800,000+ vaccinations in England and not much after posting only 35,000 in Wales and the challenging logistical issues being faced by Mr Gethins team
Did Wales actually order the number of vaccines required or is there a more straightforward answer
Israel v UK figures.

Just listening to a fasinating interview with Sir John Bell Canadian the eminent immunologist and geneticist, his main points :
The South African new strain is very worrying ,a new vaccine will need to be found but will easily be done as lots if variants will appear .
AstraZeneca has a million vaccines in the country now .
We should quickly move to a one dose of the AstraZeneca Vaccine policy and delay second
AstraZeneca could easliy ramp up manufacturing to 2 to 5 million a week .
On the above figures we could see 26 million vaccinated by easter and that would protect those who need immediate protection and puts life back to some sort form of normality .
When asked about single dose of tye AstraZeneca dose he stated it would keep folk out of hospital the second dose is needed as a kick on but not crtitcal at this stage single dose fires up the antibodies and lymps to fight the virus .
I didn't know this so I googled Wales vaccination rates hoping that you were wrong because that seems incredibly slow. Didn't find any answers but came across this article https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/w...covid-19526106
Of ALL the photos they could have put showing someone getting the vaccine, bearing in mind we need as many people to get vaccinated as possible and some people are nervous about injections anyway and even more so about this one, that's the photo they choose. Honestly, walesonline are just
There arent enough trained NHS staff to deliver the vaccinations. Those who have experience of delivering vaccinations are finding that there are a huge number of hurdles to get over (Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications) that means red tape is holding back delivery. BJ has waffled through his interview with Andrew Marr this morning claiming that NHS will get rid of such red tape to speed the process of vaccination delivery up. For those who havent realised, BJ doesnt do preparation. Its surprising he turned up for the interview this morning. That's another of his tactics. When in doubt, dont turn up and send somebody else instead.
Ditto, not enough trained NHS staff to staff the HDU only Nightingale hospitals effectively. But they look good on tv. Suffice to say these temporary hospitals are not geared up for non-Covid patients and are not suitable for general overflow situations......unless a lot more money is spent on basic facilities that you would expect in hospitals.
My wife is due to have her first jab this week. Colleagues of hers who have appointments this week for their second, have had texts this morning cancelling those appointments.
I guess this is because the gap is now being extended, but whether that gives enough time for those appointments to be filled I'm not that confident.
There are three national pharmaceutical wholesalers that can deliver cold chain medicines to all 10,000 community pharmacies in the UK at least once a day. They do the same service to hospitals.
There is a national pharmaceutical wholesaler based in South Wales which specialises in delivering medicines, particularly vaccines, direct to GP surgeries.
Are we using them?.....No. . In Wales I understand the Blood transfusion service is being used to move the vaccines around. With great respect to it this is not its area of expertise
It's hard to get data on the number of vaccines in Wales, but seems that Wales has taken delivery of 200,000 Pfizer doses and 20,000 AZ
We're still miles ahead of most European countries, when it comes to the vaccine. Most front-line NHS staff in Wales has already had the first jab. We're getting there.
