    Dai Davies RIP

Sad news, another legend from my youth gone.

Funny, I always remembered him playing for Everton and Wrexham and never the Jacks. I must have blocked that period out of my memory for some reason!

Condolences to his family. I don't know too much about him as a player but understand he was big figure in Welsh football.

Had the pleasure of his company for an afternoon (plus others), in Hungary. Great stories told that day, whilst the ale flowed

    RIP.

    Re: Dai Davies RIP

There was an announcement last year about his terminal cancer wasn't there. A better keeper than his "Dai the drop" nickname suggested, but I wouldn't put him in with the top echelon of Welsh goalkeepers.

    RIP

    Re: Dai Davies RIP

    That is sad news.

Wales keeper in the days of us generally struggling but played for some decent clubs (post-Swansea obvs )

Always looked very old and I felt a bit sorry for him as the photos of him were usually when in action without his dentures.
Decent looking guy in the one pic.

    RIP Dai

    Re: Dai Davies RIP

    Sad news.

I met him once where he advised me on the benefits of flotation tanks to an individual's general health and spirit. He was supposed to be advising me on goalkeeping coaching techniques.

He did get around to that to be fair.

    RIP
Phil Dwyer said that of all the goalkeepers he played in front of, Dai Davies was the one you got out of the way of if he shouted "Mine."

A lovely man who I met with on many occasions over the years.

He helped me hugely on one matter and was always generous with his time.

Over the years I lost contact with him and was unaware he was ill.

Thank you Dai for everything RIP.

Me too! I was also surprised he played so few games for Everton. RIP.
