I saw Roxy Music at the Kensington Court Club in Newport just as Virginia Plain was becoming a hit. I think they were signed for a £50 fee that night. Was standing in second row and could have touched Eno and Ferry. It was a good night to be sure.

I bought a greatest hits album for Roxy Music in the early 80s because they were a band I liked, but not to the extent that I had all of their LPs and, although I was aware of virtually everything on there, playing it really brought home good they were - if I was asked to give a one word description of Roxy Music, it would be “class”.

Very good documentary on Amazon Prime about him. I only got into him recently as he crops up in a lot of interviews with paul Weller about his influences.

Why did you buy a greatest hits album for Roxy Music?

Couldn't they afford to buy it themselves?

Hey, ta for that. I think parts are on YouTube where there are quite a few really good documentaries on Nick Drake, too.
