97 he was. Never been a fan of Formula One or any motor sport really, but I did appreciate Murray Walker’s commentary and my respect for him increased as he carried on working until a grand old age.

Murray Walker has died. R.I.P.

Absolute top bloke. Loved his motorcycle racing, met him many times over the years, very genuine & very knowledgeable. What you saw on TV was the real man which is not always the case. A sad day. RIP Mr. Motor Sport
Just been having a read of some of his quotes
The lead car is unique, except for the one behind it which is identical.
Jenson Button is in the top ten, in eleventh position.
This would have been Senna's third win a row if he'd won the two before.

I haven't watched F1 for a few seasons and I know he retired coming up to 20 years ago but it was his commentating that got me in to F1 all the years ago.
I really enjoyed his autobiography.
He seemed like the perfect gentleman.

Good commentator, can't believe he was 97.
The European drivers have adapted to this circuit extremely quickly, especially Paul Radisich who's a New Zealander.
He's not been commentating for quite a while now and I must say that the F1 hasn't been the same since he retired.
Murray's enthusiasm for motor sport was a big factor that got me watching.
Yes he made many a boo boo but he was one who could laugh at himself.
Not just the formula one either, the rally cross on a Saturday afternoon was a great watch with his dulcet tones accompanying the drama.
97 is a good age.

Strangely enough I was watching old clips of rallycross on YouTube this morning, with Murray commentating.
He was to Motorsport what Bill McLaren was to rugby union. Both legends.
