Thread: Singapore Bluebirds

    Singapore Bluebirds

    Are there any on here?

Just been offered a contract by my current company to go and move out to Singapore in the New Year. Covid/Omicron permitting, could be Jan-Feb time that I head out there I reckon.

Never actually been to Singapore so quite a jump but looking forward to it as a 20-something-year old and hoping to travel around the region etc.

This Board seems to have one of everything so if there’s any members on here who live or head out to that area a lot be great to get in touch (and get some tips!!)

    That’ll be a great experience

I have quite a few friends who live there, some love Singapore and some don’t mind it. But they say the best part is how easy and cheap it is to fly to the rest of Asia.

I’m pretty sure there is at least one poster from Singapore on here too.

Yeah very keen to try and travel around while I’m out there, great launch pad to get out to Vietnam, Philippines, Bali etc hopefully!

It’s a great place from which to travel around the region.

Plus it’s not that expensive if you want to go to Macau or Hong Kong or even Korea

Personally as an occasional visitor I’m not that keen on Singapore per se but I understand why it’s attractive

Vietnam and Bali are 2 of my favourite places I’ve ever been.

Great opportunity to explore the country’s around there…..great food too. Wasn’t that fussed on it when I actually went there as it seemed a bit too expensive and built up, but I’d been backpacking around on peanuts for ages in s e Asia so it was just a bit of a shock to the system. Probably love it if I went back now….

    This.

I lived there for 2 years about 25 years ago now, so a lot would have changed, but some thinks would have not. Like... Excellent food + cheap in the hawker centres, expensive beer, bloody hot and humid, oppressive government. But a gateway to Asia and Australia. Enjoy!

Didn't Singapore Bluebirds hold their meetings at The Birch?
