Blackweir , The Castle Grounds and Bute Park have been places where people meet up for sexual encounters , mostly gay men , where especially in the summer drugs and alcohol are consumed and where robbery takes place

As its the main municipal park close to Cardiff city centre why are there not mounted police , visible warden patrols etc to deter dodgy individuals ?

You can't stop everything but it's worrying that a few hundred yards from castle street and Queen Street this poor fella was beaten to death over half an hour .

And nobody was there ?

Seems like one of those situations where the police can't win. If they were mounting regular patrols through the nights, they'd be accused of targeting the gay community. Also presumably people are going there to meet because it's quiet, if the police started rocking up constantly people would then go somewhere else. If you fancy a discrete sh*g you're not going to want plod poking around. I'd imagine the danger would just shift rather than stop.
