It is well known that no side has completed the league double over the other. In fact, out of the 21 occasions where one team has won the first derby of the season, the other side has won on 16 occasions, with 5 draws.
Swansea tend to fare better in the opening derby of the season. These are the figures for the first derbies of the season:
In Cardiff:
Played - 19
Cardiff wins - 7
Draws - 7
Swansea wins - 5
In Swansea:
Played - 12
Cardiff wins - 1
Draws - 2
Swansea wins - 9
Here are the figures for the second derbies of the season:
In Cardiff:
Played - 11
Cardiff wins - 7
Draws - 3
Swansea wins - 1
In Swansea:
Played - 19
Cardiff wins - 5
Draws - 5
Swansea wins - 9
The solitary Cardiff away win in the first derby of the season and the solitary Swansea away win in the second derby of the season was in the 1989/90 season.
Of the 9 times we've lost away in the first derby of the season, we've won at home 6 times and drawn twice. Of the 5 times we've lost at home in the first derby, we've won away 4 times and drawn once.
Of the 7 times Swansea have lost away in the first derby of the season, they've won at home 5 times and drawn twice.
On the 11 occasions where the second derby of the season has been in Cardiff, we've only failed to score twice. They've only scored in 4 of those 11 games.

Another block of tickets now available including in the green area. £23.
3-0 Cardiff
2,000 or so tickets left apparently, not many left in the main bowl and they're selling the corners of the red stand
Michael Chopra visits CCS!
Scorer of a famous South Wales derby winner in April 2010, Michael Chopra will be returning to the Welsh capital for tomorrow's match!
The former City striker will be speaking in the Premier Lounge at 2pm, before joining Rhydian-Bowen Phillips on the Legends Stage in the Ninian Stand at 2:20pm.
Just before kick-off, Chops will be going live on Cardiff City TV for a pre-match interview!
Just left the Rummer, after the singer finished a chorus went up of ‘In their Swansea slums’, my missus looked at me daft when I sort of half heartedly joined in........Perhaps she thought I should have gone in full on
My ten pence for what it is worth - although much has been said already:
I can't say that there was a lack of effort on the player's part - the tactics were wrong - hindsight is wonderful, but I would have started with Davies for Harris and Colwill for ????. I would have preferred to get on the front foot and in charge and bring others on later. As it was we simply gave them too much latitude in the hope of a break.
There were often times when there was a back five.....too easily cut open. The goals were bad - first one Flint should have intercepted. Second one a player left completely unmarked just outside the D from a corner. Third, Perry Ng (as has often been said) is not the greatest in the air, and should have cleared for a corner. Possibly only the final goal was a 'decent' goal.
As for player ratings - not quite sure why Smithies is getting grief - he could not do anything with the goals and was ok I thought. Of the others, Drameh, Davies and Colwill showed passion and some nuance.
I suppose one claim to fame we still have is the record score in a game (City 5 Swansea 0, 6th April 1965) - was fortunate enough to be at that game!!
The other consolation is that whoever is manager next season, the team talk is done......just show them yesterday's video:

Do we condemn SM on this one game? Certainly he shows crassness in some of his remarks - maybe this will be a lesson learnt on his managerial road. For the moment I am still supportive.
