They must have come to some agreement otherwise he would have just hung around the place.
In any other business, it could be argued it’s constructive dismissal by forcing him out, as they were not going to play him.

I think Hammam did the same to Gareth Whalley who was stuck on 48 games. A bonus payment was due after another one or two further matches. And people say Sam didn’t pick the side
