Thread: Boris “U turn” Johnson has found his match.

Boris “U turn” Johnson has found his match.

After telling Laura Kuenssbergg there would be no reversal of last week’s controversial mini budget, Liz Truss announces plans to scrap the scrapping of the 45p top rate of income tax.

At least it’s not chaos with Ed Miliband.

Looking forward to hearing from the people that were talking about trickle down economics and how these tax cuts were a good thing…

Boris loved a u-turn but I think she may win with this one.
Yesterday she was asked "are you absolutely committed to abolishing the 45p tax rate for the wealthiest people in the country"
    Answer - "Yes".
Less than 24 hours later..... Wow.

Imagine if you were one of her party who had been publicly defending the mini-fudget

U-turns may be a sign of political weakness, but people were rightly calling the abolition of the 45% tax rate wrong, so the fact it's been removed is a good thing.

Obviously better to have never put it in the budget in the first place, but the next best scenario is to remove it before it was enacted.

If they had to show their true colours and put it in the budget I would say one better would be a QUICK u turn.
The fact she was being so firm on it on the BBC yesterday morning makes it all the more laughable
