Re: Are you in the “anti growth coalition”?

I’m bit confused this lunchtime, is it Truss or Kwarteng who’s joined the anti growth coalition?

Kwarteng still holding firm. Truss is about to join.

Surely even James and LOM can't explain this one away as 'they have listened'. And surely Truss doesn't escape this by scapegoating Kwasi, that is obviously her play here but I can't see how that washes. Polls over the next few weeks will be interesting.

Talking of polls, one with a bigger Labour lead than that notorious thirty three per cent one.

The Times are now reporting that a group of Tory grandees are going to call next week for Truss to go.

    My money's on the lettuce.

3rd october 45p rate changes scrapped
14th october corporation tax changes scrapped

These guys are as anti-growth as you can possibly get.

She answered four questions - well, there were four questions she gave the same answer to. The whole thing lasted just under ten minutes and it seemed like half of that time was taken up by her making up her mind who was going to ask the next one.

Yeah she looked in a panic on who should she allow to question her.

Personally, I cannot believe she has sacked him, and I think it's ridiculous.

The worst of the budget had been rolled back. Leave things to settle ffs.

She seems to think he's messed up, and that the minor fiscal event had quite an impact and was continuing to.

Do you think she should go?

Your party is a complete shambles and even Arty is mentioning going to the people.

Of course he needed sacking but the 2 have gone with that budget together.

There needs to be an election.

Probably the last thing the country needs, though I wonder if the Tories would call one - I doubt Starmer would relish being PM at the moment.

I think the questions touched on that.

Budget designed by Truss and Kwarteng, budget fails, Kwarteng goes. How she quite thinks she can get away with that is a mystery.

Labour have an open goal of a VONC. I can't think of a downside.

At PMQ on Wednesday she gave the same answer (allbeit about help with energy bills) to every question. Today it was just a different same answer.

Liz Truss is thick as mince. Would you trust her with a job in a call centre? Great for her, money for old rope!

With the opinion polls showing huge Labour leads I can't see enough Tory MP's voting against Truss.

No doubt Labour will be taking soundings but will not call one unless they seriously think they can win it as it can often rally the governments MP's to their own side.

Quite possible the LD's or SNP will try for one for a bit of attention.

Its a fair point. However those in marginal seats have had it anyway. Maybe they will be happy to see the complete annihilation theyd get.

This lot arent fit to run the country and should go now.

I think the Labour Leader is confident enough of victory not to rely on a Tory boy saying he will switch for sacking Raynor.😂😂😂

    Ange for Deputy. 😂😂😂

FFS weve currently got Terese Coffey.😂😂😂

The one concern I've got is that given Truss is an electoral liability would a more sensible Sunak/Mordaunt/Javid leadership turn the electorate in their favour?
