There's usually always another way in...
You're just paying for these ridiculous mainstream headline acts these days. That's not what Glastonbury was ever about, but unfortunately that's what it's become. Just another mainstream festival.

Who the feck in their right mind pays that to go to Glastonbury?
I went most years between '79 and '89, by then it had reached it's sell by date.
Anyone from this board still go to Glastonbury?
You'd have to pay me £340 quid to go these days

"Robbie Williams recently told the BBC he would like to fill the legends slot at the 2023 event".
Don't you have to be a legend to do that?
I wouldn’t go to Glastonbury but don’t think that’s too bad for all them bands and things.
I've been, and depending what you are after it's probably the best festival going, but I'd say it definitely isn't the best value.
And given the rhetoric they pump out about what the festival is 'all about' and then turn around and charge those prices..hmm..something is amiss.
Metal festivals like download are a rip off as are gigs in general
Glad I have seen all the bands I love now , I find the whole thing a ball ache
You met some good people in the old days but it seems a middle class weekend these days , bet half of em are Tories which Micheal Eavis would hate .
Thankfully whenever a cool festival becomes too big, mainstream and commercialised, there’s always another few smaller festivals ready to take their place, it’s just about keeping a look out as they might not be as well known, but as a result have much better people attending.
How anybody with a brain coukd still vote for this current bunch is beyond me. Most corrupt inept group I've ever known.
Make Blair and Brown look competent which I'd have thought impossible a few years ago
The lineups on the whole was poor this year too.
Agree it's also so much more than just music, 1000's of other theatre "events" happen. I don't think that price is too outrageous considering its nearly a week if you want it to be.
I paid nearly 30 euros for a concert last night. I feel sorry for the artists as it's all the middlemen diverting that money away from them to their own pockets.
Went a couple of times back in the 80's where the entrance fee consisted of lobbing a couple of docks boys a tenner to climb under their part of the fence.
Venue was okay but was starting to 'go bad' even then.
Load of bollox these days and even if the bands were worth paying that much for, I doubt I could stomach all those young middle class types posing for the cameras and their friends on social media
Given the prices of tickets to single gigs for the bigger acts these days I don't think it is that bad if I'm honest.
Pink tickets that were released recently started at £95.
That's before Ticketmaster and the like add on their extras.
