    Ive just seen the close up of the Japan winning goal. The officials called the ball out , overturned by VAR. Well the close up looks comfortably out to me. They said it was the curviture of the ball but that still looks out from the picture ive seen.

    That definitely looks out on that shot but I'm guessing the VAR technology is superior to my eyes.

    Didn't look like all of the ball from the angle directly on the goal line and the others are inconclusive. Just because there is green grass between the base of the ball and the line doesn't mean all of the ball is over the line although its millimetres in it.

    If VAR can tell if someone is offside from by their toenails surely they can tell if the ball is out.
