I've had a bit of dough on gakpo (50/1) and de bruyne (80/1) for top scorer. Depay and Lukaku are injured for first 2 ganes so I think they will be the main men for Belgium and Netherlands. Both got weak looking groups so I'm hoping they fill their boots. Had a bit ew on mbappe at 9/1 aswell.
Jumped on France when they started drifting. Had 10.5 on Betfair yesterday

I couldn't see past Brazil with Neymar for the Golden Boot going into the tournament. But France were pretty impressive last night.
Its difficult to gauge how well the favourites are doing when they have a comfortable victory over a lesser nation.
Yes, both France and England have had easy wins but England especially, showed signs of fragility at the back.
Would love to see Brazil have a really good tournament, playing some great football on the way.
I lost $100 on Wales on Monday. I think I'll give it a rest for the remainder of the tournament.

I then put a tenner of those winnings on Spain to score 5+ goals v Costa Rica.
Pre tournament, I backed Spain at 8/1 which I thought was good value.

Can't argue with 8/1 as such, they are good odds of your confidence is high.
The issue for me is how many teams are in with a chance.
It's like betting on a horse race with 20 teams in it, you're probably better off looking to lump on something with an each-way punt in order to cover yourself.
Not sure what sort of bets are available, but say Spain are 8/1 and the bookies are paying a fifth of the odds if they make the semi's for example... £50 each way would cost you £100, but if they make the semi's, you'd at least get your £100 back. If they win, £450 back.
I tend to lean towards acca's on lower stakes but bigger value so betting outright isn't normally my thing as it requires bigger stakes.
