Chelsea went to Tromso in 1997. There was a blizzard during half time.
My favourite 'game in the snow', was when virtually every game was cancelled and we we played Oxford United. It was the top match on MOTD and we won, IIRC, 5-0.
I was there and at the away game which we won 2-0 at the Manor Ground, Toshack & Clark with the goal if I recall.
I'm sure we played someone on a proper snowy pitch not so long ago?

As a snow lover, that's always been a favourite of mine. Not 100% sure but I think the match may have been shown live on TV. I spoke to a couple from Tromso whilst on holiday once and mentioned this game to them. There followed an interesting chat on the Norwegian winter. Brrrrr !

I've mentioned this before (probably this time last year), but I can remember going to a game at Ninian Park, when the pitch was covered with snow. The goalmouths had been cleared, and so had all the lines on the pitch, but the rest was white with about two inches of snow. Anyone remember this?
When I was a kid in the late '60s, two things dependably filled me with the warm glow of Christmas: That cartoon snow the Beano and Dandy artists painted across the top of the logos of their annuals, and soccer in the snow.
Oh, and Father Christmas. Let's not forget him.
I do think this complaint is overdone. No kid ever knocked on my door asking me to come out and play "football." It was always "soccer." The idea that "soccer" is an American pollution of proper English is not really defensible.It’s is but I wrote it for alliteration
