Wigan brought in 3 players today. The joys of being embargo free!

Must win game and I don’t know if it’s seeing two goals against Leeds giving me false hope but 3-0 City.

Not all signed and sealed yet (maybe for Saturday) but they are former Bluebird Steven Caulker (free agent after 4 years in Turkey), Christ Tiehi (24 yo midfielder from Slovan Liberec) and Miguel Azeez (20 yo midfielder from Arsenal).

They are also linked with Victor Adeboyejo, Jack Colback and Harry Toffolo.

Ah I remember those halcyon days when we were linked with players….

    Need 3 points

No point in one good performance followed by crap

Win this one or he should go

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WIGAN ATHLETIC. Match thread

A team with no wins in eight versus one with no wins in six suggests a 0-0 or 1-1 will be the outcome.

I suspect those hoping for 90 minutes of scintillating entertainment will be disappointed.

Scored the goal that enabled us to do something that Swansea can never do……win the first top flight South Wales Derby.

Toffolo, Colback. Either would be really decent signings.

Whoever they sign or don't sign we have got to find a way to win this 1.

If the team can't get up for this one, then we are doomed

Lose, and I think Hudson will go. Tan's forked out £6m so we can use the window, so he's desperate for us to stay up. I don't think he would risk Hudson for the rest of the season if there's someone better available. If the likes of wigan are strengthening to the extent they are, then we could be heading further down the table - with no points deductions to save us this season.

Yes, very big match for both us and Wigan.
Having the embargo lifted is a big boost for the team and Hudson.
I've been saying for several weeks about must not lose games. Wigan is yet another one, but it is about time we started winning games.
This is going to be tricky. I fear another draw, but a defeat will have to see the end of Hudson's tenure. Provided an experienced manager is brought in.

It's fine margins. A win against Wigan, off the back of a very creditable display and result against Leeds, will certainly buy Hudson more time.
Lose, I think he'll be gone.

You appear to be assuming that Wigan getting a few players in will save them whereas most often the opposite effect is the result, struggling teams still struggle and go down. Plus we didn't escape relegation last season because of other teams getting points deductions. We finished in 18th position with six teams below us. Quite a few people also appear of the opinion that the embargo being lifted is a major thing to the club and players whereas there is no guarantee we will sign anyone and never was, so the squad we have will most likely have to see it through.

Hopefully Maguiness goes straight in the line up. Ng right back.

There were several better people available for his entire interim period. If they didn't opt for someone else then, I don't think they will now.

Also, Reading and Derby's points deductions last season had absolutely no effect on our survival - we still would have finished 19th without them.

As for Wigan, they've been probably the poorest team I've seen us play this season. If we're clinical (big if, I know), I think we'll win quite comfortably.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WIGAN ATHLETIC. Match thread

Judging by Hudson's presser conference we may have a couple out because of illness.
If Robinson one of them I cannot see how we will score more than 1 as Ojo at al won't be up for it like they were v Leeds as it's not on telly.
Think Wigan will put 10 men behind the ball and try and catch us on break. As important a game for them as it is us.
    1-1

You never know, paying Nantes and lifting the embargo might now be much easier to bring in a better manager ?

Re: CARDIFF CITY v WIGAN ATHLETIC. Match thread

As has been alluded to its time to win a few games

I know it's tough on Hudson as he's been dealt a bad hand but we need to get this squad performing . Time is running out now Xmas is out of the way . If he doesn't get back to back wins in the next 4 games I think he should be replaced .
