In the eighties, you could park in one of the office/factory car parks across the road from the ground at five to three and be on the Bob Bank just in time to see the kick off - I think I’m right in saying that the Buchanan goal against the jacks game was the last one at Ninian Park of the seventies, there was20,000 plus there for that hame, but I can’t remember City getting a crowd that big through the eighties.

27th December 1980 that was. Not sure what the crowd was when we beat them 3-2 a few years later? I recall missing the first 2 goals because of the queues. The only other decent crowd I can recall was the game just after Christmas in 82 against Newport, wasn't 20,000 though. Not sure what the crowds were against Sunderland in 1980 and Sheff Wed in 84, obviously neither had anything to do with the home fans turning out in force
