I have a massive issue with locals supporting the premiership clubs when there is league football on their doorstep
Cardiff , Swansea , Newport
Those that support lower league stuff , in your case Merthyr .....Great
But we are not talking about them , we are talking about taffy idiots ignoring even Merthyr to support Liverpool , United etc
I am afraid if you can't see the clear water between these fans and the glory hunters you need to stop drinking that herbal tea
There are plenty of football fans who watch sides like Merthyr, Barry etc but also Cardiff City and Swansea
I take my hat off to them
But we are not talking about them
We are talking about people , even in Cardiff , who spurn their team to follow glory clubs hundreds of miles away
Now that's plastic
You lord it over people but you’re no different. You’ve choosen to support the more successful club over a local club. You try and justify it but you’re exactly the same. Any regulars from likes of Penybont, Ton Pentre, Merthyr, Cwmbran, etc feel exactly the same about you as you do about the top 6 lot.
It’s the same ****ing post over and over. Who cares?
They don't spurn their team, their local club was never their club in the majority of cases, they have no interest. There's more than one way toenjoy football sludge. The majority of us on here are full on about our club and there's nothing wrong with that, then there's those who support the big clubs, watch the game in the pub, wear their Liverpool shirt, whatever, that's how they enjoy the game, and more power to them, it's their choice and local pubs and food places do alright out of them.
Absoloute cobblers
Regulars at cwmbran , Barry etc are often fans of City , County etc
They are not pissing off on a bus to Liverpool 4 hours away , they are driving half an hour up the road
You are deluded if you think it's the same thing . People who are dyed in the wool fans of smaller clubs in Wales are part of the football community , the idiots from Pontypridd going to Old Trafford are fakes
You are so Totalitarian towards other people doing stuff that you don't like. You may not understand it, but it's their way of getting enjoyment from something, The economy benefits as well, and who cares? I used to think that you were parodying it up, but you're not, are you? You're like this with everything, Holiday destinations, Music, football etc. It's not normal sludge to bang on about the same shit day after day, it aint healthy mate. Stop giving a shit about what other people do and concentrate on yourself
Sludge, perhaps you could help solve a problem for me.
I live 10 minutes walk from Aberdare Town's ground, which isn't in Aberdare btw. I'm also a similar distance from my own village side.
Suppose both sides have a home game on a Saturday, while Merthyr and Cardiff City are also at home. Which team should I go to see?
1) My local village team, who play in whatever minor division they are in.
2) According to you, it's ok to watch your local league club, so I can watch Aberdare as they're a Welsh league side. They're bigger than my most local team, but I suspect that's ok.
3) There's Merthyr, more local than Cardiff and play in a bigger football pyramid than Aberdare. They're bigger than Aberdare, but I suspect that's ok.
4) Of course, I could ignore both of my local sides and go and support my nearest big football league club, Cardiff City. They're bigger than Merthyr, but I suspect that's ok.
It's a bit of a quandry, really. There's always the next option.
5) Seeing as I'd be allowed to travel further to be a glory hunter and support a big Championship team instead of my two local sides, why does that have to stop at Cardiff? The Midlands has a couple of even bigger teams that would take me about an hour and a half more to get to. Hell, if I'm prepared to go that far, why not Liverpool, London or Manchester and support a really massive club? Given options 1-4, they're all bigger than Cardiff City, but I suspect that's ok.....
Don't bring religion into this sunshine
If you are able to take in both Cardiff and Merthyr games why is it blokes phone up radio stations with Cardiff accents pretending to be Liverpool fans ?
If you can sit in a boozer up your way in your Cardiff colours whilst dave and nigel from pentrebach are there in Liverpool and Man United tops then you must be on mogadon
