They flew to East Midlands Airport (M42/M1 junction), didn't they? That makes the decision even more daft. That is a 3 hour coach journey (less by car) covering just 155 miles with a further one hour to get up the M1 to Rotherham (presumably in the club coach which travelled up empty?).

For Sunderland, Boro or Norwich it makes perfect sense. But not part way to Rotherham.
