Thread: Ng and McGuinness

    Ng and McGuinness

Did anyone else see Perry Ng and Mark McGuinness clash after Swansea's second goal? The two were arguing as they were walking back towards the centre circle, shouting and pointing fingers at each other, and then Ng approached McGuiness and shoved him in the chest. Not good at all. Thankfully, McGuinness didn't react, or there would have been a danger of both being sent off.

Although prone to the odd lapse, the defence has been reasonably solid this season, but yesterday Ng, McGuinness and Kipre were all poor. The defending for all three goals was dreadful.

I watched the highlights this morning and the lack of urgency after Philogene had put the ball out for a Swansea throw-in before their third goal was shocking. To a man, the City players were just standing still. Incredible under the circumstances.

    Re: Ng and McGuinness

Ng is 5 yards behind the rest of the back line. His positioning is criminal, he’s playing Piroe onside. He can see right across the line, Kipre and McGuinness are holding their line.

Ng trying to shift blame is laughable although not exactly shocking giving some of his antics.

Noticed the same about Philogene for the third goal. Felt like the entire team was out on its feet waiting for the whistle, unforgivable at that stage. No idea what Kipre was thinking either.

He was all over the shop for their second goal, didn't know where to put himself and ended up in no-man's land.

The only man who reacted after the ball hit the wall from the free-kick was Kaba, everyone else was standing still. But the lack of urgency which gave Grimes (I think) the time and space to pick the pass that led to Kipre's foul was just ridiculous.

He’s capable of having good games but he’s not a centre back and at times it really shows.

That was my view too of the recriminations.
Allsop should never have been beaten from that acute angle.
McGuinness was way out of position for the second.
The defence were like statues for the third - tired? no will to defend?
Swansea simply wanted it more at the end - and got their reward.
There used to be a time when City could be backed to win the game in the last ten minutes.
    Remember those days (wistfully)?

He had the freedom of the Cardiff City Stadium, ridiculous. Then Kipre, who’s been a liability recently, jumps in. Schoolboy errors.

Ng was out of position for the second, not McG. He was holding the line with Kipre. God knows what Ng is doing but he’s 5 yards deeper, which plays Piroe on. If Ng holds the line, Piroe is miles offside.

Ng was the one out of position, he was about 5 yards behind Kipre & McGuinness and playing Piroe on

NG seems like a little bitch. I don't like him.

He had the freedom all afternoon. It’s the thing that made me most angry in a rather long list of things. No one went near grimes all day. It’s like he was hoddle in his pomp. Stand and strut and ping balls left, right, centre. Nobody laid a finger on him and we had 3 central midfielders. What are the coaches watching. He won’t need to wash his kit after yesterday. It was immaculately white. He will never have an easier afternoon. Until the next time. Ffs!

Keith Stroud separating them was one of the very few things that he did well all afternoon.

We were fast asleep for most of the first half. Either no game prep, they out fooled us - or we were tired. Eitherway - we were rubbish first half and that cost us, gifting them 2 goals is why we are where we are
