We could offer them a year but it's doubtful they'd take it and most of the names available don't seem worth much more.

In other probably fictional news, a Leicester website reckons they're looking at Ng.
If it is this piece (same as the twitter link above), despite the misleading headline they are just saying Leicester 'should' look at Ng. Nothing to suggest they are.

Unless Tan has found some trick around FFP or we can sell someone on for good money I don't see how we start investing in the squad, certainly not to a level that would excite anyone.

Best I feel we can do is try to discover some talent cheaply and develop them. Not sure we have much experience of that mind.

we would need a trick around the transfer payment embargo as well as the FFP regulations

Here is a thread about Jephcott from the Argyle messageboard. Nothing too critical of him but seemingly regarded as a League 1 player at best and lacking pace

Regarding the embargo, it seems to me that we should be thinking in terms of putting money we cannot pay in transfer and loan fees into the things we aren’t banned from doing, so,for example, we could shop at a higher level in the free transfer market. If we can’t pay transfer fees, then why don’t we look at offering a bit more in wages than we would have been prepared to pay without an embargo? Similarly, could we pay a bit more in signing on fees?

In the loan market, maybe the embargo means that we could make a bigger contribution to the player’s wages?

Ah righto; that'll teach me to skim through the speculation.

NG is very decent player at this level ,he would be watched by quite a few teams especially with the knowledge we are cash strapped .

They've got a young CB that's highly rated, Charlie Hughes. I imagine he will get paid on Friday, come hell or high-water.

    The rest, probably not.

I was a big fan of Joe Bennett when he was here , but I don't think it would be a good move now

Bristol City are moving early in the window - they have lined up a third defensive signing:

Ross McCrorie and Rob Dickie done, and now (if this is true) a deal agreed for Hayden Roberts from Brighton.

Can play centre back or left wingback - could have been good for us.

Cardiff City, Derby County, Portsmouth, Barnsley and Oxford are chasing Notts County ace Ruben Rodrigues on a free transfer this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Rodrigues, 26, is out of contract later this month and although he has been offered a new deal at Meadow Lane a number of sides are ready to lure him away.

The Portuguese attacker played an instrumental role in Notts County’s promotion from the National League last season.

He had 34 goal involvements for the Magpies, scoring 19 and providing 15 assists.

The 26-year-old joined Notts County from Dutch side FC Den Bosch in 2020 with his deal expiring this month.

Just confirmed that he's leaving Notts County.

Where's he off to? Is he Championship quality?
