Thread: relegated sides

  1. #1

    relegated sides

are there any players from these teams worth trying to nab? as presumably they'll need to cut costs.

can't think of many from Wigan or Blackpool who would really improve us.

I think reading have a lot of players out of contract

Definitely take Gerry Yates from Blackpool and Meite from Reading.

Ekpetita and Yates from Blackpool? Neither are out of contract though, so no chance unless the club wants to release them to save money.

Next season is about survival with our embargo.

Lets not dish out 2 or 3 year contracts on Reading players.

    Re: relegated sides

Have we had a good signing from Reading since Robin Friday?

I can only think of Bacuna and Rinomhota that we signed from them off the top of my head.

Didn't we sign ALF from them? Good player, but not for us. Couldn't hit a barn door. One of the many strikers who have come to us and failed.

    What about promoted teams?

Billy Sharpe for example is a good championship player, but can't see him cutting the mustard in the premier league

37 year-old Billy Sharp had scored two goals in the Championship this season. To put that into perspective, Mark Harris has scored three.

You mean the Robin Friday who did not want to be here, was mostly useless or absent as he got slung in jail and then walked out on us after less than a year ?

    Yeah, him.

If notts county don't get promoted.
Marcus Langstaff would be a good punt

Ekpetita would be a very good signing, but he’ll have to wait at least a year I guess.

Think Will Keane may be out of contract this summer.

Ekpiteta has struggled this season, but hopefully can regain form - Pretty useless when trying to play out from back apparently as well, according to a post on AVFTT

    Macauley would be better.

Given the goals he scored, unlike Mullns stat padding with penalties, you seriously think he'd be in our price range?
