There are any number of matters that this government is completely and utterly failing it's citizens, not to mention the continued madness surrounding their 'managing ' of the economic recovery. I have to say that for me, this is of no significance or importance to anyone else other that the politicians in Westminster..

Compare it to the lies by the PM and colleagues told to parliament about 'weapons of mass destruction'. Now that WAS a lie. They lie all the time. This has to be seen in the context of the political climate in the Tory party. Sunak is 'cleaning up', just like Starmer tried to do.

a) it's not a big deal for the PM to lie to parliament - let it go
b) it is a big deal but don't talk about it or pass judgement because you think it's happened before

Our streets are feral, crime isn't investigated, mortgages are going through the roof, NHS waiting times are soaring, the highest taxes in peacetime yet public services practically non-existent, Rivers becoming sewers, and so on, but what's really important is did the ex PM lie about knowing the rules for eating cake.

I agree that this is only seismic inside the Westminster bubble - and yes there are bigger issues and bigger failings that affect the people of this country more.

But a Prime Minister lying (again) to Parliament and a new wave of civil war breaking out in the governing party is definitely significant and important for the rest of us.

This has got absolutely nothing to with socialism, it’s to do with common decency and respect for fellow human beings. If you install draconian freedom limiting restrictions on the population, you’d better make sure that you’re not caught flouting them yourself.

People weren’t allowed to see their families.
Single people were stuck at home alone.
Yet the likes of Hancock and the party goers break the rules that they themselves set.

Why were they not afraid to break the rules you have to ask yourself I suppose ,as the majority of the UK government could have been killed or seriously ill. What if they suffered from “Long Covid “

All these rules were broken by several senior government figures which makes it even more ridiculous when Boris almost died from the virus a few weeks earlier.

I thought these people had body guards and protection officers, why didn’t they intervene?
