We can pay fees again from January. Club Statement

Wonder if we'll line up some loans with commitment to purchase in January? Subject to FFP of course!

Shame we still can't pay anything this summer, but good news that we can from January.

Loan to buy definitely sounds like a possibility.

We definitely weren't allowed to loan to buy, previously. I don't see how this would be any different.

Was that definitely the case? It's hard to keep up.
Would defeat the object of the ban I suppose.

The optimist in me sees positivity in reducing this but the pessimist wonders how much money we will desperately waste in january

what a ****ing cop out by the EFL still ****s our season up and they'll probably slap us with another ban for the next installment by January.

Yes, how dare the EFL apply the rules to CCFC. Disgraceful stuff.

The pessimist in me wonders if Fuhrer Tan will put his hand in his pocket.

It’ll be interesting if the new boss can get us into a relatively competitive position by January, then we will see Tan’s level of commitment based on whether he wants to invest further

I don’t understand why people are getting excited about this: we don’t have any money anyway (apparently)!

Hospitality will be so comfortable this coming season, get some top notch() furniture now, pay January, also there maybe, just maybe a sale on

    Exciting times

Comes to something when these are the good news headlines.

Not that it will make much difference, I don't see how we can start splashing any serious cash even in January. Still good for the loan fees maybe.

I thought that was due to the long transfer window bans, rather than a stipulated clause.

I thought we couldn't do loan to buys because loans are generally between transfer windows and therefore, as we were at least 3 transfer windows away from being able to convert a loan into a permanent deal, we couldn't do it... Rather than a specific clause.

Kaba for example... Loan to buy would have meant an 18 month loan deal before it could be made permanent... Impossible.

    But i could be wrong.

    True.

We have been told this for years and then all of the sudden money appeared last season for Robinson and Etete

Yes. If we all thought of it, the EFL will have too!

I don’t think this changes anything, sadly

I mean, this is Vinny T, but I doubt they’d spent money on lawyers if they had no intention of spending money

Or making the club more attractive to a potential buyer (I have no evidence to suggest that this might be the case btw)

I doubt we will be seeing much spent but it might just help us agree a loan for half a season with the promise of 100k or something for the second half of the season or to sign them for whatever amount in January.

I don’t think anyone’s expecting much from Vinny but it can only help.

someone posted the rule that was being applied on here a while back and I'm sure there was a clause against arranging future fees, can't remember the exact wording though

You're right. It says we can't "pay OR COMMIT TO PAY any transfer fee, compensation fee or loan fee or any other form of payment (other than a sell on fee) in respect of any player during the period."
