Thread: My Father and other Working -Class Football Heroes.

My Father and other Working -Class Football Heroes.

If anybody’s interested about how footballers were treated before the maximum wage was abolished, this book is a really good read. It’s written by Gary Imlach who hosted the Channel 4 NFL show. It’s mostly about his father, Stewart, who played for Forest in the 1959 Cup Final but includes his team mates from some of the other teams he played for as well.

I thought it was a really good read. Must be a good ten years ago I read it though. It's been out for a long while.

Yes, it won the William Hill Sport's Book of the Year. A very good read, as you say.
