Not being a cricket aficionado, why are the stumps being used in the Ashes blue with a rainbow at the bottom?
Do plain wood stumps provide a harder target to aim at (mainly for fielders), since they blend in with the colour of the wicket?
I can understand the use of coloured stumps when teams are playing in non-white kit under floodlights, but not in daytime matches when, I assume, most teams are wearing the traditional 'whites'.

I thought the same thing and was going to write and decry the rainbow colours especially, but then I thought I would be vilified for not being "inclusive"!!
I've not got a problem with the rainbow symbol, as long as it is not adorning the base of a set of cricket stumps ... anyway isn't the LBGTQ+ community represented by more colours than that of a rainbow.
Perhaps those in 'control' of cricket need to think of a way to make the sport more welcoming to 'Brits' of different heritage and those who were not privately educated.
Makes them easier for everyone to see basically.
Virtue signalling.

I really have more important things to think about!
They make it easier for the batsmen's to be out.
Definitely the worst type of “inclusivity” as it makes literally no impact on my enjoyment of test cricket while it makes others feel included.
Imagine getting upset over coloured sticks of wood
They do it to wind up old moaners.
It looks like it's working tbh.
Once again you absolute goons, you and Lardy have waded in to a thread with cheap jibes, without reading the OP first. The poster is not remotely upset. Just saying that as he’s not into cricket much, can someone explain the reason behind it, and does it help or hinder the players.
Can you actually read?
Do you know what, if I was a gay black female trapped in a males body I'd love those rainbow stumps. I'm sure the cricket world would welcome me.
Touched a nerve, did we?
There were people upset with it, social media reveals that. I didn't see any fingers pointed in this thread at any posters though.
Anyway, please show me how you manage to definitely not look like someone lurking in the MB wings to snook in with the usual cheap kick...
