Follow on, how many crashes have you had in your life and how many were your fault?

I got rear-ended (suits you sir) on Caerphilly road I was about 19 just over the railway hill, I was moving stopped in time, the car behind did also, and one behind that whacked him into my Ford Escort, I was gutted! - Non-Falt

Then about ten years later I clipped the back quarter of a parked BMW and wrote it off by the tax office, my company car was repaired unfortunately. - My Falt I was distracted by people in the back.

Have any non-speeders also never had a crash?

(Distraction while we wait for the Keeper and Moore to sign).
Had 3 in total. First one was my fault (2 days after passing my test) I pulled in front of a car trying to over take me on the A40 at Raglan. Didn't see it in my blindspot. Always, always look over my shoulder now. The other 2 were non-fault. Some twat rear-ended me on the M5 and another pulled in front of me at traffic lights on a country road in Berkshire.

Car went into the back of me once while we were stationary waiting at a junction. Didn’t mind too much between me and my wife we had £3k compo without even asking for it.

Other than that never been in an accident which is suspending the way a lot of people drive.

None; that’s why I have always declined the speed awareness course on principle.

I've slid into a wall on black ice, rolled into the towbar on the car in front of me when I had the handbrake off, and reversed into a lampost, but never had a collision with another vehicle whilst driving.
Keeping a decent distance from.whats in front of you is the way to do it.

Yes. The number of cars I see bunching up on fast roads is frightening nowadays.

Yeah usually van drivers who don't have a clue what "Keep apart two chevrons" means.

The 2 second rule is easy enough to follow. I must admit there have been a few occasions where I've almost been able to see the nasal hair of the driver in the car behind in my rear view mirror, they've been that close, and changed down a gear (not on any fast roads). The shock of a car slowing suddenly without break lights while they're up my arse usually gets them to keep a bit more distance.

I’ve had three. The first one a few weeks after passing my test was my fault I suppose - I hit a car as I turned out into a T junction. It wasn’t your normal T junction it was more of a semi circular y junction and there was no sign of the other car when I looked before pulling out. Second one, a post office van went through a red light as I was turning right at the traffic lights in front of Cardiff Castle and a car behind me once drove into the back of me as I was just about to pull onto the Gabalfa flyover roundabout.

Two. 1 all. I lost the back end once, too fast, too wet & back of the car hit a tree that was around 40 years ago. Second one was a side by side on a roundabout. German guy in a hire car 20 miles out of the airport, pulled over into the side of me, trashed the side of both cars.

Fallen of a motorcycle twice on the road, loose gravel & ice. Fallen off tens of times off road.

I borrowed my daughter’s car ,one afternoon ,when she’d only had it 2 months. A motorcyclist came around the bend in my side if the road and hit the car and he ended up on the bonnet. Luckily, at the time, he wasn’t that badly hurt and refused an ambulance, luckily I’d taken photos. A couple of months later, I get a phone call from my insurance company, saying the motorcyclist is suing me for his injuries. Nearly 2 years later, the case is still going on.

Where there's pain or blame there's a claim.

Hard to prove will probably end up 50:50 if there are no witnesses.

The insurance company are fighting it, tooth and nail, as the photos clearly show, he was on my side of the road.

Buy a machete and take the cnut's face apart. There is no need for the bastrad to do what he is doing.

Two in 55 years. Both not my fault:
    1. I was stationary at traffic lights and a van ran into the back of me.
    2. The spare wheel suddenly dropped out from under a Sprinter van and rolled back down the road towards me. I could do nothing about it as it was rush hour and traffic in the opposite lane was non-stop so could not swerve to avoid it. We could have been killed if it had come up over the bonnet and through the windscreen. Instead it smashed the front of the car. Caused quite a lot of damage and it was touch and go whether the car would be written off. It wasn't and was repaired thankfully. There was no time to get the licence number of the van as it was too far ahead of us. I got hammered by the insurance company when we came to renew as we could not identify the other driver!

I put a brand new ( purchased that week by the then GF ) Mk3 Golf GTI on its roof hammering down some country lanes ( thinking I was Colin McRae ) where she lived in cheltenham we had been out for a meal with her parents and she drove her and myself home, I thought " wow, I fancy a blast in this, pull over, lets have some fun " and she let me, so that was my fault, lesson learnt, only drive slow cars when learning to drive

then about 10 years ago, I was hit from behind by a youngster who didnt see me stopped at a Junction, I still suffer from back pain even now if I do too much work
