They have just done the Hotel California tour, played the whole album live
We got excited that they was a rumour they would be in Florida when we were there, playing the " farewell tour " would have loved to have seen them play, but they didnt announce a florida date
R.I.P. Great musician and great band.
Hated this American middle of the road period - thank fk for punk i say.
The Eagles were quality
A bit coffee table background music at times but great when they nailed it
I’d agree with that, Dirty Laundry was relevant then and is even more so now - prefer the really poignant Boys of Summer though.
As a fan of Punk and New Wave, I wasn’t supposed to have much time for the likes of the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, but I always did - didn’t always like their music, but I knew they were good.
Not another one, RIP will be the most used abbreviation on here.
Back in 1977 The Eagles were massive. They represented everything that punk hated, the long hair, flared jeans, check shirts, the bland west coast country rock harmonies etc. That said, Lyin' Eyes, Take It Easy, Desperado, (a favourite of Lemmy's) are great melodic rock songs.
Regarding Joe Walsh, when Bernie Leadon quit the band he was drafted in as replacement, though in view of his own burgeoning career, they thought his stay would only be temporary. I think he stayed on longer than anticipated.
Cmon then who who was still wearing flares in 1977
Pretty sure most in south Wales were still wearing flares in 1977 whatever their taste in music - pretty sure I was.
Some pretty impressive Dan Dares being worn by Chris Hodgkins and his Band in this photo taken at Tito's in December 77.
