BBC Admits to Smearing Anti-Ulez Protesters as ‘Far Right’

    https://dailysceptic.org/2023/08/04/...-as-far-right/

I may be wrong but it’s a term loosely derived when people disagree with something or try to shut down an argument.

In this week's edition of 'the BBC is so weak it gets backed into a corner and has to apologise to assholes'..

Why would you think a protest against ULEZ is full of assholes ?
Nobody voted it in and it would appear to affect the poor and vulnerable more than most ?

Well I didn't say that, people that complain constantly about the BBC are though.

The opposition to ulez is a good example of nimby nonsense.

There are a few posters on here that try and use the same tactic

People who write into the daily mail .....or read the crap sheet .....complain about the BBC being left wing , think Boris was a jolly decent chap and have an odd persuasion to that idiot trump are definitely right wing

Wasn’t ULEZ a Conservative policy originally? People on the left are very quick to throw the term “far right” at anything that is not as left as their view and vice versa on the right, it’s the way things are in 2020’s Britain (and virtually everywhere else for that matter).:

That isn't what has happened here.

The BBC decided it made better reading to say:

'Local protestors and mainstream politicians were joined by conspiracy theorists and Far Right groups.'

Someone who attended (or maybe didn't..) decided they didn't fit into the following categories:

    - Local Protestor
    - Mainstream Politician
    - Conspiracy Theorist

...and therefore they must be 'smearing' them as 'far-right', worth a complaint surely.

The BBC did their usual 'cower in the corner' act when some foghorn complains.

A cursory glance at CCMB will tell you all you need to know about where the battle lines are drawn on this, the more right leaning posters are usually strongly against anything environmental to the point where they post absolute nonsense masquerading as science to prove themselves right. The BBC probably shouldn't have said it if they couldn't prove it, but if you asked far right groups what they thought of ULEZ, I doubt they would be in favour.

I was just making the general point that “far right” and “far left” are terms that get thrown around much too easily these days - you hear the Democrats in America being called a far left party, they’ve never ever been that.

Re: BBC Admits to Smearing Anti-Ulez Protesters as ‘Far Right’

The far right is very active in this country

And it isn't much of a step for right wing numbskulls to step into that area and sometimes actively get involved

The left of course , exists but those with far left views .....the communists and socialists ....are either underground or not that committed as the UK communist party consisted of a few blokes having coffee once in a while and they disbanded due to lack of interest

I think it’s irrelevant where the news source is from , don’t let that article sidetrack you from the real issue and meaning of the thread.

Have you got a BBC link by any chance ?

I would disagree. You have made a Daily Sceptic post the centrepiece of the thread you started. Own it.

I just posted an article that I agree with , regardless of its source , and there is history with people being labelled incorrectly as “far right”.My opening thread explains why.

    Hope that helps
