Dog on the pitch
Ugbo scores 3-0.
Alnwick saved all 3 penalties, we found a team worse than us at penalties 😂
Perfect shootout from Alnwick
Never in doubt.🤣
Have I read this right, we have a goalkeeper that makes saves?
Keeper saving 1st 3 pens, a good one for the stats guys, when did this last happen ?
For the avoidance of doubt - I was talking about the dog on the pitch
Cheap on wages apart from a couple of tins of winalot, he has pace - 4 legs are better than 2, the downside being he does have a tendency to sh1t on the pitch... not sure if there is an FA ruling on defecating ?
Away to Birmingham next round , not very exciting!
Only seen the highlights but the youngsters impressed me
Well done boys
Just got back. Good entertaining game, Colwill was very good and took his goal well. Tanner did well. Full backs were poor particularly Collins who looked very rusty.
Some brief observations:
Collins looked very much like someone who hasn’t played a competitive game for a year. He was well off the pace and his touch was often poor, especially during the first half.
For a man of his size, Etete is embarrassing at times. Weak as a kitten. He makes Chris Pike look robust and aggressive.
Tanner surprised me. He looks much more promising than he did this time last year, when he was completely out of his depth against Pompey. Maybe he has a chance after all. He certainly looks the part in physical terms.
Alnwick emerged as the penalty hero, but he was more than a little shaky on several occasions during the match itself.
Some lovely touches by Colwill, who now stands at around seven foot six. I think he’s someone who would really benefit from a proper loan spell in League One, as I just don’t think he’s going to get enough competitive football here in the near future. He really needs to be playing regularly now.
I think that game showed we need defensive reinforcements and we need them now. One injury at CB and we are screwed, 2 and we are completely f*cked.
Decent gane, some tidy saves with the pens from Jak
Tanner and Rubes stood out for me, I always said Tanner had a footballer inside him, he runs at players and excites when he has the ball, he may not make it at championship level, but he will not be far away from it imho
Even Ojo looked like a player tonight, shame we cant say the same about Etete, he just isnt the No9 we need
Got to feel for the Colchester fans, hell of a trip for a Wednesday , The M4 was shut everywhere, M4 shut at Newport, then again after the bridge, then a massive detour Via the M32 around Bristol , took me over 3 hours to get to Bath, they would have had another 3 and 1/2 hours on that, they are not getting home till 5 am, makes you think, why do we do it
Tanner comes across really well in the post-match interview on CCTV.
