Thread: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 2 Q.P.R. Match thread

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 2 Q.P.R. Match thread

    Well that was disappointing.

I feel that Robinson and Colwill are the only other players who can complement Ramsey’s game at the moment. They are quick thinkers with movement and read the game well. One or both have to start next week. Tanner also really pushing for a start now. Grant hasn’t shown anything so far.

Agree.....also Tanner has made his claim. He WANTS it....

hope tanner dont go out on loan again, he clearly didnt like going out and looks to be putting in the work to improve, at least he looks up for it

it was the usual smash and grab panic at the end, but we were well beaten in the 1st half and up against it

its such early days but we have to hit the ground running or we will soon be on christmas looking up at the rest of the division

    Just reading WOL...first half...

"The Bluebirds just looked a little disorganised and struggled to break down the opposition, while Rangers were happy to hit on the counter and from set pieces."

Were they watching the same game??

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 2 Q.P.R. Match thread

Midfield was disjointed having two players both looking to sit slowed us down.

Grant was a waste of a shirt.

Tanner was a positive and the link up play with Colwill was great to see.

I really hope we aren't actually paying grant. Can we send him back? What rubbish.

Also goutas is terrible. So slow and easy to beat.

We were warned about exactly this

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 2 Q.P.R. Match thread

Massively frustrating, no idea what the first 65-70 minutes was but then very good once he brought Robinson and Tanner on and pushed O'Dowda forward. Also thought Ugbo very unlucky to be brought off when he was, think he would have got on the end of one of those teasing balls in the last 15, Etete's movement is nowhere near as good.

Romeo and Collins the full backs next time out, Bowler and O'Dowda to start out wide with Robinson in the 10 role and Ramsey deeper. Chance we will get overrun in midfield with that lineup but at least shouldn't look completely clueless going forward.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 2 Q.P.R. Match thread

Lets face it. Tanner and Colwills positive cameos masked an utterly abysmal performance against maybe the divisions worst team ( maybe 2nd worst).

Tactically clueless , passive , no aggression , no closing down , no threat , just slow tedious passing from the back.

That was as bad and worse than most games last season.

We cant survive with these sort of tactics and line up.

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 2 Q.P.R. Match thread

    On the evidence of that...

Philiogene is a better player than Grant, Kipre is a better player than Goutas.
Can't argue with 2 in 2 for Ugbo but putting the ball in the net was his first positive contribution to the game. Ramsey needs to perform to make up for the reduction in quality from last season and he didn't.

Why is Robinson not starting? That is baffling and a shocking call by the manager.

He wasn't the worse one out there. Mind, the QPR player probably saved him a red by jumping over his tackle leading up to the second goal.

It sounds like this performance gives some context to last week’s capitulation.

Armstrong was quality for them, exactly how you want a lone striker to play. They started to rock a bit when hit went off

Last week was all about courage and a back to the walls effort which almost got an unlikely 3 points but a valuable 1.

Some people questioned the players bottle though.

Agree with that...and Tanner to start...he looks the part...not a gangly youngster....HE WANTS IT. O'Dowda HAS to play more forward. Grant has been somewhat less than impressive despite his bullish interview upon signing, and should be benched.

Can't argue with most of that, bit harsh on Ugbo though... 2 classic poachers goals and hardly got the service to do anything before hand. I don't think he's great but he's a big improvement on Etete and I thought that change was a very strange one from Bulut.

If Ugbo can get a tap in once in even every two games....I'd be happy....

Re: FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 2 Q.P.R. Match thread

Proof, if any more were needed, that we need midfielders

Ramsey can't do it all on his own, he needs players around him who can complement his game. It was noticeable when Robinson came on that he finally had someone who could see what he was doing

Grant was embarrassing, Robinson had to tell him where to stand at one point, very disappointing. Ng was also poor I felt, dwells on the ball far too long, there were occasions where an obvious ball was on for Bowler, but he'd wait and wait and by the time he passed it QPR were back in shape

Armstrong for QPR is a player, tore us apart at Loftus Road last season and did the same today

Solid defensively and puts the effort in but touch and passing range of a brick, judging on how he looked when he came off we won't be seeing him for a while anyway.
