The FA will consider Sarina Wiegman as Gareth Southgate’s successor when he moves on from being manager of England’s men’s team and it will be a game changer if this happens.

England's women should be reaching semis and finals though with the amount of money being ploughed into the game , years ahead of other countries in funding and development, although top you could argue that’s basically the same with the men’s team at grass roots level.

I was thinking this earlier. Her record is actually incredible. Lost once in two years or something like that. She seems very level headed and it's hard to see any justification for a football league team not to consider her.

That's if she wanted to. She is no doubt handsomely paid as it is and can see it would be a step down in many respects.

It would be good to see a female manager in men's professional football some time mind, just to see how it panned out
