Can be difficult to tell how these kind of financial issues pan out..they can escalate and be catalysts for huge impacts or they can fizzle out.

What is almost certain in the next decade or so though is that China will very likely be less stable than the last 20 odd years. Growth will slow, people will continue to be oppressed and it's unlikely they will tolerate it so much if lives aren't getting materially better.

The biggest concern is if they go down the Russian route of distraction through military action.
