    My song of the day
During the introduction of the band, Bowie forgot Tessa Niles name and called her Teresa Smith

Queen by a distance was the best performance and there were other bands and artists I preferred. But their performance and Freddie Mercury in particular was a standout.

    Queen were immense ATG performance.
    Bowie was great.
I was enjoying The Who until the broadcast went off :)

Bowies Heroes was both poignant and the best six minutes and fifty one seconds of the day , in my humble opinion .

And he didn't pull the usual big name back up ..

I can clearly remember that day. I was on the final few weeks of my army basic training in Catterick Garrison. I spent the whole day in the TV room of our accommodation with the rest of my troop. We spent the day watching the broadcast whilst polishing our boots for our upcoming pass off parade. Queen was definitely the best set that day.
